British actor, born in Chingford, Essex, England, on January 13, 1923. He got married to actress Patricia Hicks (1947-2001) and they had 4 children. Jack studied acting as a child at the Italian Conti Academy of Dramatic Arts. He first appeared on the stage in 1936 and made his first musical in 1939. He served in wartime in the Royal Air Force. Among his important works: A Night to Remember (1958), The Pathfinders (1972), and Paradise Lagoon (1957). He died in England, on May 22, 2001 of cancer.
