American actor, born in New York City, on March 2, 1903. He was married to Ann R. Sincere, they had two children, and she remained with him until his death. William was of Dutch origin, prolific in film and television, tending to play the roles of bullies from the wealthy Western. He appeared in more than 250 films over two decades and had been the head manager of a bank before appearing on Broadway and cinema. Among his notable works are Key Largo (1948), Kid Galahad (1937), and My Pal Trigger (1946). He died in Los Angeles, California, USA on November 15, 1966. |
