English director, who began her career in editing, then progressed to documentary and finally fiction. She directed the award-wining short film What Happened to Evie (2018). She won the BAFTA and Prix Danube for the BBC series Pig Heart Boy. Among her works are Grange Hill (1999), Blue Room (2020), and What Shall We Tell the Children? (1993).
