American actor, born in New York City, on December 25, 1919. He got married to Virginia Wright Richardson Turgeon. He made his debut in the local theater in 1940, and his theatrical career was interrupted due to his service in the US Air Force during World War II. After the war, he returned to the Broadway theater, and continued until the mid-sixties. His made his television debut in 1950, and continued until the late eighties, when he began his work at Eugene O'Neill Theater in Waterford as a writer, director and actor. Among his notable works: Airport (1970), Muscle Beach Party (1964), and Dark Shadows (1967). He died in Stony Brook, New York, on October 6, 2000.
