British actor and director born in Forest Gate, London, England, United Kingdom on January 29, 1928 as Peter James Byrne. He was married two times and had no children. His notable works include Time Trumpet (2006), Dixon of Dock Green (1955-1975), and A Christmas Night with the Stars (1958-1963). He trained as an actor at the Italia Conti Stage School. He was a production manager for the Bournemouth Theater Company and presented many shows in the pantomime theater. He died on May 14, 2018 in a nursing home in Denville Hall, at the age of 90.
