British ballerina and actress born in London, England, United Kingdom. She entered the world of ballet through Madame Rambert, a noted ballerina and coach, who trained her and accompanied her on a country tour during World War II. She gave an outstanding performance as a member of Sadler's Wells Ballet Company from 1948 to 1950 and later joined Ballet Russes where she danced with the company until 1953. She is best known for The Red Shoes (1948) and The Tales of Hoffmann (1951). She died in 2018.
