An American actress, born on October 27, 1938, in Knoxville, Tennessee. She attended Central High School in Memphis and won a scholarship to Vassar College, where she started a BA in philosophy, after which she earned a BA degree from Rhodes College (now known as Southwestern)...Read more and an MA degree in speech and drama from the University of Iowa. In New York, Lara appeared on Broadway in the play "Woman is My Idea". In 1972, she moved to Los Angeles and began working in film and television. After retiring from acting, Lara became a high school and college English teacher after obtaining an MA degree in Creative Writing from Antioch University. She is known for Dark Shadows (1967-1971) and Night of Dark Shadows (1971).
