She was offered a contract by 20th Century Fox, and in the 1950s, she appeared in Hollywood. Her notable works include Man in the Attic (1953), Taxi (1953), and The Mudlark (1950). As she failed to land roles, she drifted into a life full of drugs and alcohol. She was sentenced to prison for stabbing her boyfriend. She tried to kill herself numerous times. She was married three times but had no children. She ended up working as a cleaner and died on June 30, 2003, in Islington, London.
