She was an Irish actress, born in Limerick, Ireland. At the age of 16, she won a Dublin beauty contest. She joined the Rank Organization for a short period as she was mentally disturbed and returned to London, where she studied acting and appeared in several British B films. She was offered a contract by 20th Century Fox, and in the 1950s, she appeared in Hollywood. Her notable works include Man in the Attic (1953), Taxi (1953), and The Mudlark (1950). As she filed to land roles, she drifted into a life full of drugs and alcohol. She was sentenced to prison twice for stabbing her boyfriend. She tried to kill herself numerous times. She was married three times but had no children. She ended up working as a cleaner and died at the age of 74 on June 30, 2003, in Islington, London.
