A Mexican actor, producer, and screenwriter, born on November 10, 1952, in Mexico City, Mexico, to a Mexican father and a Cuban mother. His grandfather was from Puerto Rico. He started singing folk songs when he was seven years old. He got his first role, which was in the movie María (1972), at the age of fifteen. In 1979, he won the Premio ACE Award for Best Actor for his role in La virgen de Guadalupe. He married Mari Mediavilla, and they have two children. He is known for Corazón salvaje (1977) and Besos prohibidos (1999).
