A British actor and singer, born on May 8, 1958, in Aberystwyth, Wales, UK. His works include Cameleon (1997), EastEnders (1985), and Judge John Deed (2001). He won a BAFTA Cymru Award (or BAFTA Wales) for Best Actor for his role as Delme in the Welsh-language film Cameleon (1997). He studied music at the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, under Professor Ian Parrott, and sang with soprano Hazel Holt. He then studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and was awarded the Baritone Prize and both the Hugh S. Robertson Prize for Conducting and Vocal Ensemble. Moreover, Hughes co-founded the Academy Strings and received the Leach Foundation Prize.
