British actress and dancer, born on November 23, 1931, in Hendon, London, England. She attended the Ballet Arts School in New York and made her stage debut in 1949, as a dancer in a production of "Oklahoma!" in New York, before appearing in other Broadway performances. Melford made her first UK television appearance in The Three Hostages (1952), and her debut movie was Will Any Gentleman...? (1953). Her notable works include Father Dear Father (1973), H.M. Tennent Globe Theatre (1956), and Bunny Lake Is Missing (1965). She was married to John Standing. She passed away on February 20, 2018, in London, England.
