British actor, born on February 10, 1896 in Southport, Lancashire, England. In 1929, he joined the Birmingham Repertory Theatre. He specialised in playing grumpy, downtrodden, or careworn ordinary men. Victor appeared in over 100 screen productions between 1938 and 1966. Among his notable works are The Ringer (1952), Major Barbara (1941), and Calling Bulldog Drummond (1951). He died on December 23, 1965, in London, England. |
