Raymond was trained at Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree's Academy of Dramatic Art in 1915. He was an aircraft mechanic in the Royal Flying Corps during the First World War. His works include Brief Encounter (1945), The Faithful Heart (1922), and The Ghost Train (1931). He died on March 20, 1973, in Sussex, England, United Kingdom.
