A Chilean general and dictator, born in Valparaíso, Chile. He ruled Chile from 1973 to 1990. He appeared in Against Reason and by Force (1974), Condor: Axis of Evil (2003), and Chile: Hasta Cuando? (1986). He married Lucía Hiriart and had five children, including Augusto Pinochet Jr.. During his 17-year rule, more than 5,000 Chileans were killed and countless others were tortured or imprisoned. He died of acute heart attack on December 10, 2006 in Chile.
