A South Sudanese-British model and designer, born in Wau, South Sudan. She began her artistic career at the age of 18 in 1995. She is famous for influencing the concept of beauty in the fashion industry. She is from the Dinka ethnic group in South Sudan but fled to Britain in 1991 to escape the Second Sudanese Civil War. In 2015, she was included as one of the BBC's 100 Women. She currently lives in Brooklyn, New York. She attended the London College of Fashion and studied Fashion Business and Technology. She was discovered in 1995 in Crystal Palace by a scout, and in the same year, she appeared in Tina Turner's music video "GoldenEye", the theme song to the 1995 James Bond film of the same name.
