An Iraqi director, based in London. She studied philosophy at the University College London, then filmmaking at the Slade School of Fine Art in London, and worked on editing a number of documentaries and feature films. In 1994, she began working on independent films. Most of her films focus on the Middle East. She taught editing and directing in Britain and Palestine in Gaza, Jerusalem, and Birzeit. In 2004, she co-founded the Independent Film & Television College, with her colleague Kasim Abid. Her credits include Iranian Journey, Return to the Land of Wonders, and Our River...Our Sky.
