An American actress, born on November 1, 1939, in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, USA. She went to Boca Ciega High School in Florida. Upon her graduation, she studied at the Drama Department of Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh. She moved to New York, where she worked to pay her tuition fees while studying acting. She also studied musical comedy with Word Baker. She appeared in both TV and cinema productions until her retirement in 2012. She is known for The Last Starfighter (1984), Murder One (1995-1997), and Hill Street Blues (1981-1986). She was nominated for six Primetime Emmy Awards and won a Q Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Quality Drama Series for her role in Murder One (1995). She is married to Steven Bochco, with whom she has had two children. She died on February 18, 2023, in California, USA.
