He is known for Pajamas (1927), Bred in Old Kentucky (1926), The Understanding Heart (1927), and Sky Devils (1932). He worked in silent cinema, making his debut in Wild Oats Lane (1926), and joined the sound film era. His last appearance was in Les Miserables (1952). Jerry suffered from alcoholic liver disease and died in Santa Barbara, California, USA, on June 11, 1979, of a cardiac arrest.
