British actress, born in Devon, England, on March 28, 1876. Grace got married to the comedian Charles Dodsworth. She had a large career in classic Broadway plays, and made a good start in cinema in 1930 and 1931. She studied in a monastery in Brussels, and worked at the Brussels Theater, then at the Drury Lane Theater in London, and sang at the Vaudeville Theatre. She then immigrated to the United States and worked on Broadway, then went to Hollywood, where she worked in cinema until 1953. Her important works, include: The Bat Whispers (1930), The Shanghai Gesture (1941), and The Snake Pit (1948). She died in Los Angeles, on December 20, 1963.
