Shaimaa Saied |
A British actor, born on November 26, 1925 in Glasgow, Scotland. He attended St Mungo's Academy in Glasgow, and trained as an actor at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Then he participated in repertory theater performances in Scotland and England. He played important roles in many films and series, most notably Breaking the Waves, The Master of Ballantrae, One Life Stand, and Snakes and Ladders.
He was chairman of the Scottish committee of the actors' union Equity for 17 years. He was married to Katherine McCall, a television and theater director. Their son also entered the entertainment industry, first as a child actor, and he later dabbled in theatrical work. McCall committed suicide on January 29, 2002, when his wife found him hanged in their home in Glasgow.
