An American actor, born in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, on May 5, 1889, as Harry Lewis Woods. He died in Los Angeles, California, USA, on December 28, 1968, of uremia. He was married to Helen P. Hookenberry (1911-1968), they had three children, and she stayed with him until his death. Among his works are Crime Takes a Holiday (1938), Monkey Business (1931), and The Viking (1928). His evil demeanor made him very well-known in the field as an evil character. He served in the army before becoming an actor and made a living selling ladies' hats. He ended his film career in 1954 but worked on television until 1961.
