He appeared in several Broadway productions while also participating in silent films until 1922, then took a hiatus. He returned in 1931 and continued his film career until the late 1950s. Among his notable works are The Paleface (1948), Tarzan and the Huntress (1947), and Valley of the Zombies (1946). He was married to Helen V. Luttrell until he passed away on October 30, 1967, in Los Angeles, California, USA.
