An American actor, born on May 8, 1893, in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, as Harry Lester Dorr. His father was a shoemaker, and he is the oldest of 11 children. He was in the military draft during WWI and WWII. He appeared in over 500 productions, including stage, shorts, films, and television productions. He launched his acting career in 1930. He is known for his roles in Riders of the Purple Sage (1931), The Secret Code (1942), and Flying Disc Man from Mars (1950). He was married to Grace L. Painter until he died at the age of 87 from pneumonia on August 25, 1980, in Los Angeles, California, USA. |
