He married Edythe Evelyn Lawrence and they had a child, and she remained until his death. Among his notable works are Love Birds (1934), Never Give a Sucker an Even Break (1941), and The Crimson Ghost (1946). He died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA, on October 6, 1969, of pneumonia and septicemia.
