Biographies:

• An Iraqi singer, born in Basra Governorate, Iraq. He started his career by joining the military theater in 1971. During that period, Riad participated in a large number of plays,...Read more including The Spark (1972). After that, he applied to the exam committee on Iraqi Radio and Television and passed the exam with difficulty due to the pressures he was facing at that time. In his early years, he formed a duo with composer Jaafar El Khafaf, and they presented several songs, including "Mojarrad Kalam" (Just Words). He also performed the opening credit songs for a number of TV series, including His Heart in the City. He got married and fathered four children, including singer Rahma Riyad. He died on March 7, 1997, as a result of a heart attack.
