An American actor and radio personality, born in Northampton, Massachusetts, USA, on January 13, 1918, as Francis Michael Dunne. He played small roles in low-budget films during the forties and fifties, then moved in the sixties to television work. He majored in drama and journalism at the University of Alabama, and while he was at the university, he worked at a local radio station. His desire to pursue acting grew, so he moved to New York and presented many radio programs.
His good looks attracted the attention of Hollywood, so he signed with Fox in 1945. In the early 1950s, he appeared in several television shows. He married Marie Vivian (1940-1977), they had two children, and she remained with him until his death. Among his notable works are The Woman from Tangier (1948), Mannix (1973) and Law of the Barbary Coast (1949). He died in Los Angeles, California, USA, on September 2, 1977.
