He provided the Western character role in films for Columbia, Universal, Monogram, PRC, and Republic, often in supporting roles. He is known for Roll Covered Wagon (1940), Elmo the Fearless (1920), and Romance of the Rockies (1937). He died of respiratory failure in Saugus, California, USA, on February 23, 1969.
