An American actor, director, songwriter, singer, and guitarist, born in Lamar, Colorado, USA, on December 13, 1917. He was married to Marilyn Tuttle (1946-2003), they had two children, and she stayed with him until his death. Among his most important works are Song of the Sierras (1946), Midnight Raiders (1944), and Rainbow Over the Rockies (1947). He grew up in California and began learning music at the age of four. After an accident in his childhood that led to losing 3 fingers of his left hand, he learned to play the guitar without them. Sight problems forced him to retire in 1970, and he died in Sylmar, California, USA, on September 29, 2003, of heart failure.
