Born in Medellín, Colombia, Héctor Abad Faciolince is a Colombian novelist, essayist, journalist, and editor. He is one of Latin America's most gifted post-Latin American Boom writers. His best-selling novel Angosta is his most well-known work. Abad graduated summa cum laude from University of Turin, where he studied Modern Languages and Literature. In cinema, his credits include Memories of My Father (2020), Carta a una sombra (2015) ,and No hay Musas sino Mozas, No hay Mozas sino Cosas (1995).
