An American actress, born in Chicago, Illinois, USA, on January 14, 1913, as Mary Rita Stewart. She died in Contra Costa, California, USA, on August 19, 1995. In 1946, she got married to the special effects artist Norman Breedlove. Among her most important works are Anything Goes...Read more (1936), Desiree (1954), Bride of Frankenstein (1935), and Can-Can (1960). Mary was a dancer in Hollywood films from the 1930s until the end of the 1950s. She participated in musical films with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. She danced on stage at the age of three in Chicago and New York, and by the age of 16, she was touring with a band across the states. She then signed with Fox when she was 18. She danced the waltz with Marlon Brando and skated on ice with Olympic champion Sonya Henie. During World War II, she volunteered to entertain soldiers with the USO. She appeared on television programs during the 1950s.
