An American film actor, born in Crockett, Texas, USA. John's most important film works include The Grapes of Wrath (1940), Daddy Long Legs (1931), Two in Revolt (1936), and County Fair (1937). He was an American film and stage actor who played supporting roles in the 1930s and 1940s. He studied engineering at the University of Texas, then turned his attention to stage acting. He also acted in vaudeville before his film career in the early 1930s. John died in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA, on May 15, 1947, of a heart attack at the age of 40.
