An Austrian-Canadian urban planner and architect, born in Vienna, Austria. He was the first deputy minister in the new Canadian Federal Government's Ministry of State for Urban Affairs. He appeared as himself in the movie City Dreamers (2018). He married Cornelia Hahn Oberlander from 1953 until his death, and they had three children. He died on December 27, 2008, in Vancouver, Canada.
