In high school, he joined the Pasadena Playhouse and appeared in several plays as an actor and musician. After serving in the military in World War II, he worked as a teacher and appeared frequently in film and television. An accomplished guitarist and singer, he made several recordings and toured the country with his friend George Reeves in a musical to promote Reeves's Adventures of Superman. He was the manager of the Commedia dell'arte company. He died in Burbank, California, USA, at the age of 83.
