An American actor, born in El Paso, Texas, USA. He is married to Henriqueta Quetta Vacia. His most notable credits include The Andy Griffith Show (1960-1968), The Man with Two Brains (1983), The Magnificent Seven (1960), and The Pink Jungle (1968). A Mexican-American actor who has worked in film, television, and theater, portraying characters of Hispanic descent, primarily in Westerns. In high school, he joined the Pasadena Playhouse and appeared in several plays as an actor and musician. After serving in the military in World War II, he worked as a teacher and appeared frequently in film and television. An accomplished guitarist and singer, he made several recordings and toured the country with his friend George Reeves in a musical to promote Reeves's Adventures of Superman. He was the manager of the Commedia dell'arte company. He died in Burbank, California, USA, at the age of 83.
