American actress, born in Oakland, California, USA, on May 27, 1908. She was married to Alfred Hickman and Carlton Williams. She was born to a family of businessmen, who made sure that she received training in both dancing and singing. She began acting when she was 16 years old with a theater company, and at the age of 20 she worked as a professional dancer and showgirl, and through her work, she secured a contract in Hollywood with The RKO Company. She presented a number of films, but economic conditions prevented her from being successful at the box office, which led to her slipping down the list of actors, and she was forced to play the roles of secretaries and showgirls. She retired by the end of the war. Among her most important works are Gets Along (1933), The Queen’s Husband (1931), and Midnight Limited (1940). She died in Palm Springs, California, USA, on May 23, 2001.
