Shaimaa Saied |
An American film director, actress, and cinematographer, born in New York, USA, to Lithuanian parents. She studied art in New York. She worked at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum before receiving a scholarship and moving to Upstate New York. Her credits include Prison (1965) and The Life of Juanita Castro (1965). She was also a pioneer in the use of hand-held cameras in the film industry, while her film Glimpse of the Garden was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress. She died on December 29, 1970.
