A Danish actress, born in Odense, Denmark, as Vera Margaritha Gebuhr. She took ballet lessons as a child, and in the late 1930s, she traveled to Copenhagen to study at the Royal Danish Theatre School from 1937 to 1939. She began her artistic career on stage. She was married to Palle Fønss from August 26, 1945, until his death on December 19, 1962. Then she married Thomas Vrang from April 2, 1965, until his death on August 5, 2005.
In 2003, she was honored at the Copenhagen International Film Festival and given the Lifetime Achievement Award. Among the most prominent works in which she participated are Europa, Far til fire i højt humør, and Davids bog. She died on December 22, 2014, in Copenhagen, Denmark.
