Shaimaa Saied |
An American actress, born in New York, USA, to reporter George Gercke and actress Ruth Oliver. She studied at Tokyo International College, studied drama at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, and trained at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City. She worked in regional theaters and presented commercials on television, in addition to working on television plays and programs.
When her film appearances became few, she turned to television directing after she studied directing at the American Film Institute. She also trained and obtained a license to pilot single-engine gliders. She's known for The Gene Krupa Story (1959), BUtterfield 8 (1960), and Your Cheatin' Heart (1964). She died of lung cancer in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA, on May 10, 1990.
