Jawahar Alamri is a Saudi writer, and director, who graduated from Effat University’s Cinematic Arts School. A prolific short films director and producer, Jawahar has worked on several award-winning titles, including THE LAST DISMISSAL, which won two prizes at the Hollywood Short Fest, one of which was Best Director, and is featuring in the Short Film Corner of the 77th Cannes International Film Festival; the multi- director Saudi anthology BECOMING, which screened at several festivals, including the 43rd Cairo International Film Festival; and SADEYA LEFT SULTAN, which won Best Short Film at the Saudi Film Festival. She also produced THE GIRLS WHO BURNED THE NIGHT, which won Best Live-Action Short at the Palm Springs International ShortFest and the Carthage Film Festival’s Cine-Promesses Award. Additionally, she was selected to be part of the 2022 edition of the University of Southern California’s Middle East Media Initiative. |
