She was a French-Swiss writer and politician, born in Lausanne, Switzerland. She was the Former Minister of Culture of France. She attended the Lycée Molière and the Collège de Groslay. She launched her career in cinema as a script girl. She was the editor of Elle magazine, and later she became its director. She wrote numerous screenplays. Her writing credits include Le bon plaisir (1984), The Grand Illusion (1937), and Promesse à l'inconnue (1942). In 1985, she received a César Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay for Le bon plaisir. She died from a head injury on January 19, 2003, in France. |
