An American child actress, born in Los Angeles, California, USA. She began acting at the age of 3, under the name Baby Jane, and over the next several years, she starred in several popular films, and became Universal's youngest star. In 1935, she dropped the pseudonym and began to go by her real name. Her career slowed down in the early forties, and she was given small roles, and in 1943, she worked with her older sister, actress Rita Quigley, in the movie Whispering Footsteps.
In 1951, she left Hollywood and became a nun, and she taught at the Precious Blood Catholic School, but after several years in the convent, she left and married a former priest, and had two children. Some of her notable works are Porky's ll: The Next Day (1983), Born to Dance (1936) and National Velvet (1944). She died in Sudbury, Massachusetts, USA, on October 29, 2017, at the age of 86.
