Shaimaa Saied |
A Scottish actor, playwright, and film and television writer, born in Glasgow, Scotland, UK. He was also a lecturer, director and theater consultant, author, and painter. He trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD). After graduation, he joined several theater companies and performed classic Shakespearean roles such as Hamlet, Macbeth, and other characters in several theaters in London and Edinburgh.
He wrote several books, in addition to several autobiographies. He obtained a Master of Arts from the University of Glasgow in 1988 and obtained a doctorate from Victoria University in New Zealand for his study of theater in 1994. After 17 years in New Zealand, he returned with his wife Alannah to live in Scotland.
He was married twice and had five children. Among his notable works are: Jason and the Argonauts (1963), A Night to Remember (1958), and Cleopatra (1963). He died on September 6, 2023.
