An Austrian actor and director, born on March 25, 1927, in Hallein, Salzburg, Austria. He was politically active in his hometown of Salzburg starting in 1974. He was a founding member of the Austrian United Greens Party and an MP of the Austrian National Council during the 1980s; however, he retired to focus on acting. He married Edith Fux on October 10, 1987. He died on March 13, 2007, in Zurich, Switzerland, where he committed assisted suicide. His credits include The Three Musketeers (1993), Asterix and Obelix vs. Caesar (1999), and Stockinger (1996).
