She studied drama at the University of Alberta. Her film debut was in The Quiet Woman (1951). Her notable works include Night Passage (1957), Drive a Crooked Road (1954), and The Violent Men (1955). She married several times and had three children. She died on July 27, 2019, in Hidden Hills, California, USA.
