James William Fulbright was an American Democratic politician who represented Arkansas in the United States Senate from 1945 until 1974. One of his most important achievements was the establishment of the Fulbright Program for educational scholarships and student exchange in 1946 by proposing a project bearing his name in the US Congress. His aim was to introduce the world to America by attracting creative people from all over the world through scholarships to study at American universities. This program still exists today and many around the world benefit from it. He appeared in The Martha Mitchell Effect (2022). He died on February 9, 1995, in Washington, D.C., United States.
