An American soprano, born in Iowa, USA. She received musical training with her sister Rose, who later became a violinist. Mary enrolled at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and served in the Women's Army Corps after her graduation before her career took a different turn after the war. She moved temporarily to Vienna, Austria to work there. She did the singing voice for the role of Christine in the 1929 reissue of The Phantom of the Opera. She died in 1973 in Vienna, Austria.
