She won a Theatre World Award in 1956 and was nominated for a Tony Award on Broadway in 1960 for Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play. She was married twice and had one child. She served on the Western Council of the Actors Fund of America for more than 20 years. Her credits include The Long Hot Summer (1958), Dangerous Minds (1995), and Dave (1993). She died of stomach cancer in Los Angeles, California, USA, on January 18, 2014, at age 80. |
