He immigrated to the United States in 1913 and joined the university in Indiana, after which he worked...Read more for a short time in a newspaper before moving to Hollywood and working as a technical assistant and translator. In 1919, he started his own production company, then he became an actor. He also went on to work as a director and accent coach and became a US citizen in 1958. He married Agatha Tarwater (1934-1967), they had one child, and she remained with him until his death. Among his notable works are Lotus Blossom (1921), Ransom (1928), and Shadow of Chinatown (1936). He died in Los Angeles, California, USA, on December 16, 1967, at the age of 78.
