A Scottish film and television actor, theater producer, writer, and radio broadcaster, born in Glasgow, Scotland, UK. In 1936, he won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). During World War II, he served with the Seaforth Highlanders, the Parachute Regiment, and the GHQ Liaison Regiment. Among his notable credits are The Crimson Pirate (1952), The Long Memory (1953), and Simba (1955). He died in Chichester, Sussex, England, UK on September 21, 1987, at age 70. |
